India's tobacco industry employs roughly 46 billion people
nationwide. We are the world's second producer and third-largest exporter of
tobacco. With the aid of facilities occasionally set up by the Tobacco Board of
India, the market flourished in 2018, with an export value of INR 60.84 Bn,
which is quite remarkable and enormous.
Despite the health risks, the Tobacco India industry is expanding quickly because of its economic
importance. In southern India's Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, where the climate
is ideal, tobacco is primarily grown as a plant. One of the most economically
significant crops in the world, tobacco is a general term for products made
from the dried leaves of plants in the Nicotiana genus. India comes in the
third position behind China and Brazil as one of the top producers and
exporters of this product.
India exports tobacco to other countries
Between January and September 2017, India exported $461 million
worth of tobacco, compared to $671 million in 2016. More than 80 nations around
the world are recipients of Indian tobacco exports. Between 2012
and 2016, Indian tobacco exports decreased by 4% in terms of value and 3% in
terms of quantity. In terms of value, it will rise by 5% from 2015 to 2016.

Nepal. India's biggest market is Belgium, where more than 27% of its tobacco
exports.
